The Half-Life of Marie Curie title card

by Lauren Hunderson

Who was once seen as a renowned chemist winning the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911, then by 1912 the press painted her as a "foreign" homewrecker for allegedly having an affair with a married Frenchman, Marie Curie was left needing a break from all the scandal by taking a retreat with her good friend and colleague Hertha Ayrton. This play highlights the strength of female friendship. Two mothers, two widows, and two iconic female figures radiating their strong bond serve as a great example to those insecure in their friendships.
